Our Causes: Education

Objective: Expand Early Childhood Development (ECD) facilities across Mfangano Island.

• FY 2024/2025: Construct 4 ECD classrooms.
• FY 2025/2026: Construct 6 additional ECD classrooms.
• FY 2026/2027: Construct 4 more ECD classrooms.
• Post a second ECD supervisor on the island within the week.
• Transfer the existing ECD Director to improve oversight and support.

Objective: Ensure students have access to quality learning materials.

• Increase the supply of textbooks, stationery, and other learning resources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide modern teaching aids.
• Regularly assess and address gaps in material availability.

Objective: Support students in achieving their academic and vocational goals.

• Fins to Swim Program: Fully sponsors 6 students per ward up to university level.
• Genowa Fundi Mangula Program: Sponsors 15 students per year in vocational training.
• Provide mentorship and career guidance to scholarship recipients.

Objective: Equip youth with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

• Expand vocational training centers on the island.
• Offer courses in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, tailoring, and IT.
• Partner with local businesses for internships and job placements.

Vision: A well-educated and skilled community driving Mfangano Island's development.

• Increase the number of ECD classrooms to cover all regions of the island.
• Introduce digital learning tools and internet connectivity in schools.
• Expand scholarship programs to support more students.
• Develop partnerships with national and international organizations for funding and expertise.
