Objective: Establish a major water treatment and storage plant up the hills within the island.

• Provide clean, safe water for homes, irrigation, and institutions (educational and health).
• MDF to collaborate with county officials for proper planning and execution in FY 2025/2026.
• Ensure sustainable water management for future generations.

Objective: Protect and restore Mfangano Island's forests through community-led initiatives.

• Establish Community Forest Associations (CFAs) in 5 regions: Wakinga, Soklo, Wakula, Wasamo, and Kakimba.
• Promote tree planting and reforestation efforts.
• Mitigate against accidental forest fires through awareness and prevention programs.
• Collaborate with Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and the Ministry of Lands to mark and protect gazetted forest areas.

• Organize workshops and training sessions on sustainable practices.
• Promote waste management and recycling programs.
• Encourage community participation in environmental conservation efforts.
